Hip-Hop Reconstruction Volume 1.5 Art

Shadow's second Reconstruction tape was an EP of sorts, designed to sustain momentum gained by the first volume. He estimates that around 20-30 tapes were distributed.

MPC Receipt

1992 MPC receipt. This is where it all began, Shadow's transition away from 4-track loops and into big time sampling power. Shadow collaborator Paris actually purchased the unit because of his negotiating clout with Guitar Center, thus ensuring a better price.

This is where it all started- the hallowed halls & record racks of KDVS at UC Davis, Ca. DJ Zen made this flyer for the hip-hop DJs, including Xcel & Asia (Lyrics) Born, circa 1992-3.
