FUNKY SKUNK

A lot of people have been asking how and where they can get Shadow's Funky Skunk Mix CD. Here's everything you need to know:
1.The CD is included in the PUBLIC WORKS box set available on this site only starting September 1st. The price of the box set is $169.99.

2. The CD will be sold together with the first individual T-shirt design from the box set on this site only starting September 1st. The price of the T-shirt/ CD bundle is $35.00.

3. The CD will be available in limited quantities in stores sometime after the debut of the box set, however: not all countries are being serviced, and it's far from certain how many will make it onto store shelves. Also, the store version is in a plastic jewel case as opposed to the cardboard sleeve version found here.

You may be asking, "Why can't Shadow just make everyone happy and manufacture 20,000 copies and sell them for $2 apiece?" The answer is as follows (particularly grumpy blog n' board-type dudes, take notice): This is a mix CD. Meaning, it contains a lot of other people's music, owned by other people. Meaning, it is intended for promotional use only, as in Shadow isn't allowed to go and make 20,000 copies and sell them for $2 apiece or $200 apiece. Enough copies need to circulate to circumvent bootlegging, but not enough to be a liability. Get it? Got it? Good.

Now that that's out of the way, Shadow is back from L.A. and reports a fine time at the in-store, a rousing success by all accounts! Congrats to Bryan here at djshadow.com for overseeing the project and in-store, a sizeable endeavor to be sure! And thanks to everyone who continues to support us here.
