New Projects

February 09, 2005

Retail alert:  DJ Shadow has two new projects hitting stores this month.  The first is a remix he did for British rock group Keane (Interscope) entitled "We Might As Well Be Strangers- DJ Shadow vs. Keane Mix" coming out as a 10-inch only in select US markets.  If you haven't heard it, you should definately check it out, it's getting great feedback and is a different type of sound for Shadow. The other is a reissue project on his own Cali-Tex label; "The Complete Mus-I-Col Recordings of J.C. Davis."  J.C. Davis was a funk artist from Ohio; if you look at the collage inside Endtroducing you'll see one of his 45s on New Day.  Shadow remixed the music from the original tapes in the same studio it was recorded at in 1969.  We'll be selling this on our store when it reopens next month (stay tuned for more info on that as well).Lastly, Shadow has produced a track for Lyrics Born's new LP, "Same S---, Different Day" coming soon on Quannum Projects.  Finally some new music for Shadow fans!
